OPTIONS FOR VOTERS

Vote By Mail

  • Request an absentee mail-in ballot by the prescribed deadlines.

  • Call the Registrar of Voters office at 337-721-4000 or visit GeauxVote.com to UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS so the ballot is delivered to your current residence.

  • Be sure to observe deadlines.

  • Voters may return a mail-in ballot by mail or hand delivery using Drop Off options.

ABSENTEE MAIL IN BALLOT / DROP-OFF OPTIONS

Request Absentee Ballot by completing the Application & Returning:

  • Registered voters can request an absentee ballot two ways:

    • Contact or visit the Registrar's Office (337-721-4000)​

    • Get application online at GeauxVote.com

    • It is highly suggested that voters choosing this method do so as early as possible so that the ballot is received by the Registrar's Office prior to the deadline.

Mailing Absentee Ballots

  • Must be received in the Registrar's Office by the Friday prior to Election Day at 4:30pm to be counted.

  • Mailed Ballots can be TRACKED using the GeauxVote.com website.

 

Drop-Off Options

  • Voters may hand deliver a mail-in ballot to any EARLY VOTING location listed above during EARLY VOTING dates and hours.

  • For voters who wish to hand deliver a mail-in ballot after Early Voting, please call the Office of the Registrar at 337-721-4000. The office is located on the 2nd floor of the Historic Calcasieu Courthouse.

  • Drop off times to Office of the Registrar: Mon - Fri 8:00 am-4:30pm 

  • Deadline for mail in ballot to be received by Registrar is the Friday prior to Election Day at 4:30pm.

  • We are asking anyone that may be interested in becoming a commissioner to call 337-437- 3558  ext. 430.

  • COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION and return to our Election Co-Directors.

  • Our Election Team members Brandie Dufour or Rebecca Guillory will record your contact info so that updated school information can be directed to you.

  • Election Commissioners are paid individuals who work the elections, verify identity, and assist voters.

  • Oversees and executes the elections statewide

  • Provides equipment (voting machines/ballot scanning machines)

  • Trains and staffs elections with poll workers/commissioners

  • Oversees and executes the elections parish wide under the LA Secretary of State

  • Manages local logistics/locations of elections in partnership with Calcasieu Parish Police Jury and Registrar of Voters

  • Provides and secures locations/facilities for elections

  • Provides security and supplemental manpower as needed

  • Provides signage, advertising, and equipment as needed
